The Toronto Blue Jays signed Robbie Ray and it starts to put clues on the record to help us understand the market. The agreement is 8 Million for 1 year and it shows us how both players and organizations might be thinking.
You know what they say about opinions right? Well, its absolutely true, but after you spend so much time critiquing and or commenting on the actions of a franchise, there comes a time when you have to put your path down on paper, or, virtual paper as the case may be.
I know, I know, it’s incredibly early for this, but I believe we can do this anyway. Couple reasons, first I feel fairly confident that if they bring in a starter, it won’t be a better option than what is currently here, and on top of that I don’t see the Pirates making a whole lot of moves this off-season to the starting pitching.
Both of these players will be back. Period. Now, why do I say that with such authority? Because the Pirates simply can not afford to let either of these gentlemen walk for nothing.
Now, for some clubs this could help them avoid a few tough decisions, for the Pirates they might be tough for a whole other reason.
