I thought what would be nice today would be to quickly talk about how all of these guys did in limited action this Spring. Some were given more of an opportunity than others but that’s ok, the goal was different for all of them.
Late last evening news broke that the Pirates had inked Trevor Cahill to a one year deal worth 1 million dollars plus up to 1 million in performance bonuses.
The story today could be about what Trevor Williams has done here in Pittsburgh, or oh shucks about Jose Osuna never getting a chance. Did we let them go too soon? How could they give up on them with all that control? Surely there are worse players than these two?
Those moves aside the Pirates have until right after the World Series to make some moves and unless something very unforeseen happens they will lose someone they don’t want to lose.
With limited viable options and make no mistake that is very much on this regime, I believe the cuts will be pretty obvious.
