Busy week, both for me and baseball. The World Series just wrapped up with Houston grabbing another title, and with the last out came the official start of the offseason. In fact, would you believe we’ve already had our first offseason trade?

Well, the first edition of this piece in quite some time in which I don’t have games to pull tidbits from. Instead, it’ll mark the first heel turn toward 2023 for me personally and largely this site.

The Pirates have managed to hold off 100 losses for at least one more day, and as usual, they do it in the most unthinkable way. Think of how bad this team has been in 2022, then think of some of the strangest things they’ve pulled off.

There is simply no room for positives when one aspect of your team is this bad. The Pirates bullpen has completely imploded and no matter what goes right, who comes up, whom takes a step, the good feelings can only last about as long as the team can hold out before having to turn it over to the bullpen.
