A 7 game losing streak isn’t fun, and it’s not possible to watch it, even if you expected it, without at least asking a few questions. This isn’t a good baseball team, and if you ask me the frustration is ramped up because for the first time since game one, this team has most of their best components. So of all times to go on a stretch like this, it seems at the very least odd. It also doesn’t help bad decisions were partially responsible, this team doesn’t need help from the instructors to fail.
The Pirates can at the very least provide some fun baseball to watch. The bullpen has been really good all season and while it isn’t to be confused with the top teams in the league this lineup, healthy, can hang with a decent amount of teams and keep them in most games. Oh yeah, they’ll move some more players, but the most important parts are likely here for a while.
Good afternoon, and happy Memorial Day! Today is about so much more than the beginning of Summer or grilling up some dogs, at least take a moment today to close your eyes for a second and really think about the sacrifices made to keep us safe and free.
This could easily be a whole bunch of woe is me after a weekend series like that in Atlanta. Just not my style. I was never under any illusions as to what this season would bring and while there will be bright spots as we keep unfolding the pages of this season there will certainly be more like what we just witnessed as well.
It’s an off day today, and when as a writer you see that as a needed break from action, it kinda puts into perspective how the players must feel.
The Pirates have dealt with some injury to an already thin lineup and as is becoming tradition with Ben Cherington, when you expect a move, he might just give you three or four.
Rough week for our Buccos, but that’s going to happen when any one aspect of the club falters. What separates the bad/good/great teams is the ability to survive and win when some facets of the game fail.
It’s very early in the season and the Pirates aren’t the only club trying to prove betting on Sports is just as much about luck as it is knowledge.
The Pittsburgh Pirates are 7-9 on the young season and it has provided a boost of confidence to a team that probably felt they were the only ones who believed they could do better than keep the seat warm for developing prospects.
Legitimately good weekend at PNC for the Pirates. Good because of who stepped up to provide the series win against the Cubbies, not just because it happened. See, that’s how we really need to view almost everything the Pirates do this season.
