We aren’t here to be cheerleaders for Mr. Cherington, we are here to take an objective look at these values, perhaps even a cold approach, and evaluate possible trades and the actual returns from a monetary approach and today I feel like the cashier shorted me on my change and the manager just isn’t listening.
11-29-21 By Craig W. Toth (aka @BucsBasement on Twitter) A little over three weeks ago Jacob Stallings was announced as the first Pirates Gold Glove Catcher since Mike LaValliere, all the way back in 1987. Today he is one of the newest members of the Miami Marlins. Isn’t it crazy to think about how quicklyContinue reading “Jacob Stallings Is On The Move”
At long last, Joe and Justin will be talking about a situation where they have differing opinions, what Ben Cherington should do with a player.

Toth (aka @bucsbasement on Twitter) By now, I am pretty sure that most Pittsburgh Pirates Fans have become intimately familiar with journey of Jacob Stallings; from Designated For Assignment Castoff in May of 2019 to Gold Glove Finalist and Full Time Starter in 2020, and finally Gold Glove Favorite and WalkContinue reading “Jacob Stallings Remains Your Catcher For The Immediate Future”

At the end of the 2020 season, the Baseball Writers Association of America voted for a few awards when it came to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The awards were the Clemente Award, which signifies the Pirates MVP for the whole season, as well as the Steve Blass Award, which is awarded to the best Pirates pitcherContinue reading “2020 Season in Review: Best Hitter and Pitcher in Pittsburgh”
The question as to whether or not Jacob Stallings is the answer at the catching position has been asked by Pittsburgh Pirates fans, bloggers, writers and media members on a regular basis for almost a year now; ever since Elias Diaz was non-tendered at the December 2nd deadline this past off-season. At the time thisContinue reading “Jacob Stallings Is The Top Option (Currently), But Is He The Answer?”
